Born in Boston, MA, Jessamyn was an avid reader and music lover from a very young age. She began to study classical piano and music theory at the Rivers School of Music in Weston, MA at the age of 8 and went on to perform Chopin at Steinway in New York City at the age of 18. She has also studied bass guitar, guitar, and ukulele -- and then the drums called to her. She has been primarily drumming for the last eight years, both live and in the studio and stays busy recording and gigging with major players in Los Angeles.
Jessamyn has also spent her life developing her craft of writing. She holds both a BFA from Emerson College in Writing, Literature and Publishing, as well as an MFA in Creative Writing from California College of the Arts. She has now written three fiction novels, one of which was published by Tiny Tin Heart Press. Her poetry book was published by Gauss PDF. She has experience working with both kids and adults in musical and artistic endeavors and especially loves being a mentor to girls and young women who are interested in finding their own voices and writing about their own creative truths.
