Screenplay - “Exit Strategies” is Quarterfinalist in 2018 Scriptapalooza

My original Feature Film script Exit Strategies has placed in the 2018 Scriptapalooza Quarterfinals.

Logline: Veronica Fox is an expert at exit strategies for relationships, but she can't seem to find an entry strategy of her own.

Set in Los Angeles, this dark comedy is peppered with animated segments. In the spirit of I Heart Huckabees, it's an existential look at the overwhelming societal pressure to find a partner, and how the aftermath of acting on that pressure in haste can turn into a profitable business. 

Veronica Fox, besides being a badass bass player who rides a motorcycle with her dog Boots in tow, is known as an "Exit Strategist" and runs her entire business around helping people organize and maintain leverage in big breakups. Meanwhile, she bounces around as a self-proclaimed "free-wheeling pansexual" while breaking a lot of hearts in the process. When she meets her "Shadow Follower" one night and they claim they'll be leaving her if she doesn't fall for someone soon, Veronica scoffs. No one tells her what to do and she doesn't need anyone, anyway. Until suddenly she finds herself needing help in the worst of several ways...
